The last message from Aaron in the homepage of Housequake leaves no doubts: Housequake.com is gone for good.
I was lucky enough to discover the site in 2004. I had a great time since then, and made friends, learned a lot, and enjoyed very much the ride.
But it's time to move on.
I want to say a huge THANKS! to Aaron for being responsible of such an exceptional community during almost 12 years. Housequake.com was a class in itself, and it will be missed big time by many of us. And Aaron's work, commitment, patience, and love for Prince music made it, I said it many times, THE reference website for fans of Prince.
Congrats also to Prince for, using his own words, "showing his love". Now he must be happy, as definitely, there won't be any picture of Prince in the header of Housequake.com.

ReplyDeleteHopefully a new place can open as I just don't feel comfortable at the org. As another mod commented, this is like the time when Mrs Murton suddenly finished the 'Controversy' magazine....we all have a limit and boy can this fella push sections of his fandom. After nearly 20 years of following his career I am no nearer knowing him than I was on the first day. Let's keep it strictly to the music from now.

How much i hate to see HQ closed, it was bound to happend one day as the artist is not going to start treating his fans as he should (and as many other artists do).
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun place to hang out, good information and for many of us it was 'home'.
I can fully understand how A feels about the constant view of 'Big brother' Prince and i, in my turn, want to thank him for the many years of devotion to the forum.
To conclude, let's use the last words Prince says in the UTCM movie..'we had fun, didn't we'
I feel so sad and "amputated" from something that had became quite important in my life ..

Hey guys!! I don't know if you guys know but I just found out the Prince suffers with epileptic seizures. He has been suffering with them ever since he was a young child. He said that his parents did not know what to do and how to treat it, so it has been a constant struggle for him. He revealed this a couple of days ago on Tavis Smiley. Con mucho amor <3!!
