Thanks to Aaron, reloaded

For a number of reasons that I am not going to explain, I thought that today is a perfect time to read again what I posted in this blog on February 9, 2010. Here you have it:

The purpose of this is only to express the gratitude of we, who called ourselves "quakers" in homage of a great website called Housequake.com.

Since unfortunately we can not post at that website anymore, I thought it could be a good time to post in acknowledgement and gratitude to Aaron, the founder and owner of Housequake. He has made a labour of love during almost 12 years which led to a world class website, as someone called it; a place for interaction, friendship and intelligent discussion. A place where you could speak about your favourite music, and about any other thing, within the respect, and with a quality in the content rarely seen in forums. And also a place with loads of reference information regarding a certain musician and his music.

And all this work was done purely for the love of the music of a certain musician.

Housequake is already being greatly missed. May this humble blog serve to say a huge

THANK YOU AARON!

More than one year has gone, and I feel exactly the same.

  1. Is Moquake 1 of the reasons of this post?

  2. As I posted elsewhere in this blog, I have nothing to do with that website.

So if you are looking for information about it, you are looking in the wrong place, sorry.

  5. for those interested in moquake this is what gav posted on the org a few minutes ago.

"MoQuake isn't a Housequake reincarnation but something new. It will however, have some of the flavour of Housequake due to the team behind it.

The old collectors forum was very popular on HQ so it would make sense to do something similar for MQ"

  6. For the record, and speaking of flavours: there are at least three moderators (to my knowledge) from HQ who don't participate in the team of MoQuake.

    Very different flavour indeed.

  8. I simply wanted to stress that I have no relationship with it.

The rest is not my business.

  9. I think I have been very clear above: Not my business.

  10. this is exciting news indeed. A place where (hopefully) the old skool from HQ can re-gather and discuss what really matters - the music. Having been left with the org, it serves as a reminder that P fans can be so different is so many ways. One would like to think that difference can be a positive thing, but personally speaking I find the topics on that site to be mostly embarrassing to be associated with, even as just a member. I'm in no way an 'elitist', but all i would like is to go somewhere and read and sometimes participate in discussions on the music,on the collectibles and of course the bootlegs.. Oh and one recommendation to the creators of Mo'quake: please make it a banning offence if the term 'fam' is used (in any way shape or form). For the love of humanity!
apologies Cateto, but i really needed to get all off my chest!
Oh, and Aaron, of course - a massive thank you to you again. u did the work!
    Peace :-)

  11. I don't know who you are, but let me tell you that if you intend to pass a message to the team behind Moquake, you are doing it in the wrong place.

I have nothing to do with that site, and I don't plan to participate in it. So feel free to send your comments to the people who is actually involved in it.

  12. it was meant light-heartedly, in the hope that one of them would be a reader your blog. No offence meant.
